I fortunately remembered that yesterday was the first Thursday of August, which means that many museums in Seattle offer free admission for the day! So after a very warm and sunny run, the girls and I packed up and headed downtown to check out the
SAM (Seattle Art Museum). We cruised through every gallery at a high rate of speed, but took in lots of fun things, and the cool AC felt nice. There was a special exhibit about
Kurt Cobain's life, which was interesting to see, and was the site of the girls' favorite installation. While they seemed to get a kick out of the large black mouse sculpture, they were thrilled with a dark room where they were playing old home movies of Kurt Cobain performing with
Nirvana. The three of us danced to good Seattle grunge music in there for a while, then we hit the road for home. With heads full of art and culture, we all crashed hard on the ride home (except me fortunately).
