The girls have been vegetarians for nearly 8 months. That all changed this weekend with the introduction of chicken...

Annabelle and Katherine officially end their vegetarian lifestyle with the introduction of meat (chicken) on 9/25. They seemed ok with it, though they clearly weren't thrilled.

Busy Weekend
Walkin to the festival |

Playing together (and cheering for Mom) |

Here's a quick barrage of fun photos. We walked over to a fun neighborhood festival Friday evening with the girls (the stroller pics), and then Saturday evening Kirsten's fall ultimate frisbee season started, so the girls and I went to cheer (and play in the grass). Sunday we made a trip up to Bellingham and Kirsten and her Mom threw a shower for Kirsten's cousin. The babies got to see Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and lots of other family too. It was a quick turnaround to get back home after the shower last night and their bedtime was a little later than normal, which resulted in them waking up pretty late this morning. Kirsten and I loved sleeping in a bit, and the girls are back on track again now.

Feeling Much Better
Playing with empty sippy cups... |
Well, Katherine and Annabelle seem to be doing much better after their first cold. Their noses aren't so runny, and they're sleeping much better again now. Mommy caught their cold over the weekend, and I thought I was going to get away free and clear this time, but alas I woke this morning with the rest of the gang's symptoms too. I'm sure it won't last long though, and thankfully everyone else is much better now.

We're Big Girls!
The girls love to go for long walks and runs in our awesome jogging stroller, and this weekend they reached a big milestone. Until now, they've ridden in these excellent little zip-up "baby bivies" (in the picture below) that keep them super cozy and allow them to lay down and nap while we ride. However, in the past few weeks, we've been having to fold their legs up a bit to squeeze them into these bivies. After holding out as long as we could, I took out the bivies and installed the next step up- the big girl setup. Now, they are sitting upright (picture above from yesterday) and they look like they're in a Top Gun cockpit, and boy do they love it! Now they're able to see everything as we go (or just nap), and they are very pleased with this new change.
I was gone this weekend running another 100 miler in the mountains, so Kirsten and Tante Kire got the girls primed and rolling in this new setup. In other news, the girls have managed to come down with their first cold, which is definitely unfortunate. Annabelle got the sniffles this weekend, and now Katherine has it too and both are having trouble breathing at night as they're very congested. We've got the humidifier going though, and hopefully they'll be better very soon. For now though, we've got/had a few extra long nights on our plates. We are laying low during the day this week so the girls can rest and get better quick!

MOHAI
Today was another "first Thursday," which I somehow miraculously remembered before it was too late, and that means lots of Seattle museums offer free admission. So, the girls weren't into going back to the SAM today, so we decided to check out the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). We learned lots of cool stuff about the history of Seattle, and here are a few shots of Katherine in a miniature Lego version of Seattle and Annabelle with some famous historic motorcycle...
